This weekend was small business Saturday, so naturally my boyfriend and I went perusing around the stores in Downtown Lancaster. While walking around we stumbled upon Tellus360. (If you have never been in this amazing store, you need to stop what you’re doing and head over there!)
Tellus360 takes a new spin on eco-friendly items. They bring economical and sustainable solutions to all aspects of your everyday life.
Whether it’s reclaimed wood turned into lamps, recycled Christmas ornaments or eco-friendly home decor, Tellus360 is helping you do your part to help the environment. And don’t worry; you’ll look cool doing it! Their reclaimed wood guitars are probably the coolest guitars you will ever see.
They also have handmade table and floor lamps that are recycled from wood and available in tons of different styles. These incredible lamps would look perfect in any home this year!
For the holidays they have tons of new Christmas ornaments, decorations and reclaimed wood Christmas trees to decorate your home. Other creative gift ideas include a corn hole game (bean bag toss), eco-friendly home décor and men’s wooden watches.
Our next stop was Building Character. Building Character is a 10,000-square-foot historic warehouse on the 300 Block of North Queen Street. Building Character has an outstanding collection of 35+ shops where you can do all your shopping in one place! They have everything from fashionable clothing and accessories, to handmade jewelry and gifts.
For the jewelry lover, Building Character has an array of handcrafted jewelry. It is all made by local artists, and in many cases use green practices.
Another neat gift idea I found were these incredible Scrabble tile-infused tables, and frames. They are really one of kind and are great for your favorite someone! Before you leave, don’t forget to pick up one of their custom Christmas cards! They are all handmade, and add that personal touch to your gift.
Big Bear Candles & Gift Shop is another place with loads of gifts this season. They sell thousands of craft items all handmade here in Lancaster County.
Located in Ronks, Pa, their specialty is hand-carved candles, with intricate designs in various styles and colors. Their candles are all one of a kind, so you will not find these anywhere else in the world. What’s also neat about these candles is that they have an oil insert, so you won’t destroy them while burning your candles. The craftsmanship that goes into these candles is matchless, so you’re sure to impress your loved ones this year!
While you are at Big Bear Candles & Gift Shop, you have to pick up their “I believe” Christmas books. They were all written by the shop owner himself, Lonnie Brinkley. These books will have you curling up with your little ones to this bed-time story and have you saying, ‘I believe’.
