It’s Mud Sale Season!
February 11, 2011 | Category: Amish, Events, Festivals, Shopping | Posted by: Sarah
It’s that time of year in Lancaster County when Amish, neighbors, and guests from all over come together to help out local fire companies. If you don’t know what a Mud Sale is, it’s the Lancaster County term for an annual auction or sale that takes place at a number of local fire companies.
The sales are named for the thawing ground, which makes it a bit muddy sometimes when you’re walking around the fields! These sales attract thousands of people looking for bargains on anything from Amish quilts and antiques to lumber, buggies, farm animals and equipment. Most sales start at 8:30am, but activities continue throughout the day.
If you’re looking for some real local Amish flavor, these are your best bet, and you’re bound to have some GREAT food and excellent deals! Check out the dates of the Mud Sales this year by clicking here, and enjoy!
